Gymnastics competition day

The day had finally arrived! "The gymnastics WAGS competition is today"Ben & Thomas woke up thinking. We were up at a quarter past six (not that early but around that time!) and we were all ready dressed up in our leotards with shorts over them. After we got to the WAGS gymnastics building we hopped out of our cars with butterfly's in our tummies. We put on our track suits and went inside. When we got inside we started stretching and did our warm up.At ten o'clock we started competing. The first routine that we did was pommel on the floor. We had to do five half circles. The next routine we did was high bar.We had to do L hold and then two tension swings then a chin up pullover,a cast half circle and then three long dished swings then we dismounted, stuck our landing and saluted. Our third routine was vault.Vault is when you run up to a spring board and dive roll off it onto a mat. Our fourth routine was floor. We did a cartwheel, backward roll into squat sit for three seconds (which is how long we held everything for)after that we had to do a candle stand, then up into bridge,we then did a dish and then rolled over into a arch. We then did front support an two press ups and jumped into squat sit,did a straight arm forward roll and a straight jump. Then we went to rings and did the routine which was chin up to vertical hang then over backwards to pike hang, down to L hold then three long dish swings and dismount. Last of all we went to the Parallel bars.We did L hold to three long swings and 45 degrees dismount. At the prize giving Thomas came first and Ben came second. By Thomas Robinson and Ben Murray

  1. Well... You two boys were fantastic! I really enjoyed watching you compete and you have done a marvellous job of writing up your stories. I am especially impressed with your knowledge of all the correct technical terms for your gymnastics routines. Well done!!!
